Hi friend,

We are so excited about what God is doing at Journey; we have seen God show up in amazing ways. We are seeing people who were once far from God find a spiritual home at Journey. We are seeing lives transformed, and God is using us to make a real difference in our community and even beyond our borders. But we want more! We believe God is calling us to make an even greater impact and we need your help to make that happen. We sense God has set something HUGE before us. Something we can only accomplish together. I’m inviting you to be part of something big, something significant. I’m inviting you to Live the Journey God is calling us into. We each matter; each of us has a role to play.

Journey’s about people. I love that we’re a “come as you are” community where people can explore the “with God” life. The I Live the Journey (ILTJ) capital campaign is about making Journey even more welcoming, inviting and effective. It’s helping more people connect with God, each other and our community. It’s extending our serving others to greater levels. It’s showing our community that God is FOR them. Part of doing that means enhancing our aging campus, which at times is working against us, and freeing up some more money for direct ministry to people.

I’m stoked to share with all of you what God is calling us into! We want to personally connect with each of you and share the heart and vision of I Live The Journey. We want to paint a clear picture of what it’s all about and answer any of your questions. To make that happen, there’s a team of peeps working a plan to connect with all of you in the next few weeks.

Sometime between Sunday, April 12 and Sunday, May 3, we will have a ILTJ communication team member at all of our Life groups, our Campus groups, our Care groups, and other ministry gatherings. Wherever Journey peeps gather together regularly in smaller groups, we are going to try and be there once over those dates. So please try to NOT MISS THOSE WEEKS. We hope to connect with EVERYONE at Journey during that time. At all these gatherings, volunteers from the ILTJ communication team will share all about our future plans. These are people just like you who care about Journey, so be nice to them! They WON’T be talking about money or individual giving. They WILL, however, give you a better understanding of what ILTJ will accomplish. You will also be able to ask any questions you might have. Being in a smaller group setting will allow you to get answers to things you have been thinking about. If they don’t know the answer to a specific question, they will get the answer and get back to you. They will also gather any prayer needs you might have for the upcoming 24-hour Prayer Vigil we will be having May 8 & 9.

If you are not currently in a group, we’ve created some special INFO MEETINGS on our campus just for you. There will be childcare provided except on Saturday morning. Here they are:

  • Friday, May 1 at 7 pm – The Corner Room
  • Sunday, May 3 at 5:30 pm – Encounter High School Room

I think you get the idea—we want everybody who calls Journey home to be involved, so we are taking some extra steps to communicate with you.

I love you guys. I love what God is doing in you and how you are making a difference.
Ed

P.S. I’m praying ALL of you will get to one of these. This is super exciting for us. It’s a BIG deal so let’s pray! Pray for… me, our staff, the ILTJ leaders, and all of us as we enter this season of challenge and opportunity to expand our ministry and exalt God’s Name!
