Riptide — Middle School Ministry

For 6th – 8th Grade Students

Riptide is the middle school ministry here at Journey Community Church.  And guess what, if you are 6th, 7th, or 8th grade, this ministry is all about you!  Everything about it is designed specifically for middle schoolers!  It is a place for middle schoolers to have fun, make tons of new friends, and see God in ways they may not have before.  Here a couple of ways that happens in Riptide:

#1 Grow Groups
Wednesday Nights during the school year we meet  in smaller groups in homes around the county from 7pm-8:30pm. It is a time filled with Bible Study, prayer, and friendships!    This is a great opportunity for a middle schooler to deepen their faith while building community with those in their small group.

#2 Sunday Mornings
We have two identical services on Sunday Morning.  9am and 11am.  We have crazy games, a great student worship band, and times to connect with God!  These services are designed for those who are checking out who God is, as well as those who already have a relationship with him.

#3 Camps, Events, and activities
Our school year is packed with things like camps, services projects, and crazy events like GURLY, BURLY, and DYE WARS.  These events create a venue to build friendship, see and hear God in unique ways, help the community around us, and provide an opportunity for middle schoolers to to put hands and feet to what God is calling all of us to do: Love him and love others.

We believe every middle schooler was created on purpose for a purpose.  God created you exactly how he wanted you to be and that includes putting you in middle school at this very moment! So come, be yourself,  and know you are welcomed for being you!

Don’t Miss Family Fun Day

April 21, 2012 7:54 pm

Immediately after the 11am Service come to Family Fun Day in the Journey Parking Lot!

Jumpies! Inflatable Obstacle Courses! Video Game Truck! Carnival Games! Cotton Candy! Snow Cones! A $3 hamburger lunch! Silent Auction! And so much more!

The silent auction includes Mary Kay Baskets, Tupperware Packages, Job Interview Coaching, autographed football, jewelry, salon packages, and much, much more!

Also be sure to check out the HUGE PLANT SALE with several varieties of cactus.

This is definitely an event you don’t want to miss! In fact, make it a full family fun morning by coming to the 11am service. We have kids programs for Pre-K through 5th grade at all of our services. These environments are a fun and safe place for your kids to learn about God. If your kids are middle school or high school, services for them are held during our Sunday service times and are equally as cool.

The afternoon carnival festivities come to an end at 2:30pm! Can’t wait to see you there!

All proceeds go toward summer events for our children and student summer activities.

Jesus studied them. The New Testament is built upon them. They reveal God’s character. And they are relevant today, more than ever. For the next several weeks we are going to meet the Old Testament Prophets.

They were specially chosen by God in attempt to save and strengthen the relationship with his chosen people. It was sometimes a lonely and discouraging job for the prophet, but God always has been and always will be faithful and persistent. Over and over again he sent different people to prove his willingness to do whatever it took, to convince the people of his love.

Amos: A Cry for Justice
Isaiah: The Political Prophet
Habakkuk: “Is that your final Answer?” A Dialogue with God
Jeremiah: Persistence in Action
Deborah: The Hard Core Prophetess
Ezekiel: His Wacky, Wild, Wonderful Ride
Haggai & Zechariah: Coaches with Different Style
