Journey Serves: Refugees

Befriending Refugees

Sunday, February 19
1 to 2:30 p.m. in The Corner Room

We all know that San Diego is home to thousands of refugees, many from Syria and Iraq. But what do we know about them and what can we do to help make their lives a bit easier?

On Sunday, February 19 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in The Corner Room, Dan Bender of the Family Welcome Center will be helping us answer these questions.

The Center serves refugees, helping them process their paperwork, teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), giving them help understanding how to get around in San Diego, and many, many other things that we take for granted. Dan will be accompanied by person(s) from the refugee community and there will be a panel discussion and Q&A. A light lunch will be served.

Seating is limited so please sign up by emailing David Merk using the button below.
