Volunteer with Us!
We have a great kids and student ministry with some great volunteers and we’d love to invite you to join them. From youngest to oldest, Journey provides age specific weekend services because every story matters. But the truth is, we rarely find Jesus all on our own. We need someone to help us experience God’s goodness. So, that’s where you come in. Regardless of what age you might enjoy the most, we have some great opportunities for you to serve with us and make a toddler or teen’s day. So why not give it a try? Volunteers should attend weekly church services at Journey Community Church, be an involved member of our community and a supporter of Journey’s vision and DNA. If you have questions, email us at generations@journeycom.org.

LITTLE ONES — Infants & Toddlers
The great thing about working with babies and toddlers is that they are super sweet and just want to be held and cuddled, and they are very easily entertained. The only thing volunteers really have to do is be willing to hold them on a rough day, and watch to make sure they don’t get into any dangerous situations. Working with these little ones proves to be an exciting experience full of fun and laughter.

LITTLE ONES — 2 to 4 year olds
Working with 2- to 4-year-old kids is so much fun! It is full of hugs and laughs. These Little Ones’ faces light up when they see a familiar face in their classrooms week to week. Volunteering with Little Ones is playing a huge part of Journey. These little ones are our future. This is the age where they are just learning about Jesus! The kids are full of awe, wonder and excitement when they hear the stories of the bible. We have free time, bible stories, puppet shows and worship. Come be a part of planting the seeds and watching these kid grow.

CLUB TK2 — 5 year olds through 2nd Grade
The 5 year olds, kindergarteners, 1st, and 2nd graders in Club TK2 are playful, active, and often times quite silly, and they learn best through games, crafts, and songs that reflect those qualities. Not yet abstract thinkers, they use all their senses to grasp a concept. These children approach an understanding of God with such openness, and express their faith with a simplicity that leaves the adults feeling schooled. They are awesome kids to journey with as we learn and grow together!

CLUB 345 — 3rd – 5th Grade
3rd through 5th graders are some of the sweetest kiddos you’ll ever meet! This age is playful and fun. They are eager to learn and love to hang out with leaders and friends. This is an age where kids are still eager to learn and adults have not lost their cool factor yet. A volunteer in this area needs to be willing to have fun conversations, help make crafts and have a lot of fun!

TGIF — Friday Nights
TGIF is our fun Friday night program for kids 5 years old through 5th grade. We have a team of Friday Fun Counselors and Leaders who work with these ages to build relationships, learn about God and have fun. These kids are eager to get to know us and spend time with us. This is such a great opportunity to spend a little more one-on-one time with kids and have conversations about what’s going on in their lives.
Friday Nights: 6:30 – 8 pm
Riptide (Middle School) and Encounter (High School)
Riptide is for Middle School students in 6th through 8th grades and Encounter is our High School Ministry. Our students need mentors, leaders and teachers to speak into their lives. In addition to our Sunday services, we have Wednesday night Small Groups, camps, retreats and lots of fun activities.
