Women’s Life Groups
The word ministry takes on various meanings, one of which is “something that serves as an agency, instrument or a means.” Women’s Ministry exists to serve as an “instrument” to connect women to God and to each other. We believe no woman should stand alone. In a big church like Journey, it’s easy to get lost in the crowd. But we don’t want that to happen, because the truth is, we DO need connection…a place to be known and know others.
Our weekly point of connection is in Life Groups where you can:
Connect…with other women of all ages, stages of life and spiritual growth. Within a small group setting, there’s a beautiful opportunity to get to know others and make new friends. Come get connected no matter how young or old you are! We all have something to offer each other!
Cultivate…your life with God by learning more of who God is, who you are created to be, and how change happens when there’s a wonderful intersection between God and you, as we explore His Word (the Bible) together through a variety of Bible study books. Within the small groups, there’s discussion about how God is working in our lives through the particular study we are going through.
Care…for others and be cared for in an atmosphere of acceptance and encouragement, love and grace. It is within a small group that we are known and know others. This can be scary for some and we understand. We’d love for you to give it a chance!
In Colossians 2:6-7, it says, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you are taught.”
To strengthen and deepen your life with God, we offer various Bible study books which not only take us deeper into the Bible, but challenge us to live it out. Whether you are just checking out being a Christ follower or you’ve had a relationship with God for years, this place is for you! The point is that we are all moving towards more of God in our lives within community. We are NOT created to travel life’s journey alone!
We begin our time each week with worship in the larger group, then view a DVD or live teaching. Following this, we meet in small groups to discuss how God has intersected our lives, as well as just share our lives together.

Tuesday night Summer Study — July 15 through August 26
Women’s Ministry invites you to join us this summer for a 7-week Bible study/class! All ages and stages of “spiritual life” are welcome! Join us as we take a look at one of the more famous stories in the Bible…..Jonah! You’re probably thinking, “uh, yeah, what’s to really learn from a guy who got swallowed by a whale/big fish?”
Well…..have you ever experienced interruptions in life? We all have…..they can be so aggravating and frustrating! Sometimes infuriating! They make us want to tell people what we think of them! But, how we handle these “life interruptions” actually tell us more about ourselves! The prophet Jonah’s existence was interrupted by a call of God that would require a complete change of life. When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was spiritual revival in an entire city!
We get so tempted to run from interruptions because they annoy us and get in the way of OUR plans! Let’s check out this story in detail and what we can learn from it as author and teacher, Priscilla Shirer, brings truth to us in such applicable ways.
