Women’s Life Groups
The word ministry takes on various meanings, one of which is “something that serves as an agency, instrument or a means.” Women’s Ministry exists to serve as an “instrument” to connect women to God and to each other. We believe no woman should stand alone. In a big church like Journey, it’s easy to get lost in the crowd. But we don’t want that to happen, because the truth is, we DO need connection…a place to be known and know others.
Our weekly point of connection is in Life Groups where you can:
Connect…with other women of all ages, stages of life and spiritual growth. Within a small group setting, there’s a beautiful opportunity to get to know others and make new friends. Come get connected no matter how young or old you are! We all have something to offer each other!
Cultivate…your life with God by learning more of who God is, who you are created to be, and how change happens when there’s a wonderful intersection between God and you, as we explore His Word (the Bible) together through a variety of Bible study books. Within the small groups, there’s discussion about how God is working in our lives through the particular study we are going through.
Care…for others and be cared for in an atmosphere of acceptance and encouragement, love and grace. It is within a small group that we are known and know others. This can be scary for some and we understand. We’d love for you to give it a chance!
In Colossians 2:6-7, it says, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you are taught.”
To strengthen and deepen your life with God, we offer various Bible study books which not only take us deeper into the Bible, but challenge us to live it out. Whether you are just checking out being a Christ follower or you’ve had a relationship with God for years, this place is for you! The point is that we are all moving towards more of God in our lives within community. We are NOT created to travel life’s journey alone!
We begin our time each week with worship in the larger group, then view a DVD or live teaching. Following this, we meet in small groups to discuss how God has intersected our lives, as well as just share our lives together.
Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:30 pm
or Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 am
in The Other Room (Student Center B) located behind the Food Bank.
(Childcare is available)
Whatever your stage in life, you are welcome to join us and invite a friend!
Women’s Ministry Fall Study — begins September 10 & 11
We are excited to offer you two wonderful Bible studies! You just need to choose one!
Living CrossWise: Hope and Help for Navigating Transition
As inevitable as the revolving seasons, as relentless as the waves of the sea, times of transition and change will always come our way…..that’s just life! Whether it’s “hard change” or even “welcome change,” any change itself can be challenging. In the face of life’s uncertainty, how can you find God’s power to chart your course and move forward? You may feel stuck in what seems like the “in between space” of what was and what is to come.
Women between the ages of 18-80 are invited to come together for a unique Bible study called, Living CrossWise: Hope and Help for Navigating Transition, written and taught by Dr. Gail Bones (a Journey member).
Whether you are in the midst of a major life change, or wisely preparing yourself for what lies ahead, you will find inspiration, friendship, and support in this group of women who want to share their lives and stories, tears and laughter, in an atmosphere of faith, grace, and love.
Nancy Beach (one of the founders of Willow Creek Community Church), said this about Living CrossWise: “Gail Bones offers us perspective, grounded in Biblical truth, for seasons of change. I highly recommend you dig into this book, either on your own or in a small group, when the winds of change blow in your life”.
The cost of the book is $15 (you can pay online or at the door).
David: Seeking a Heart Like His, by author and teacher, Beth Moore.
Join us as on this adventure of looking into David’s life. God will never give up on you and the story of David proves this promise. In this study, David will delight and disappoint you. If you’ve ever experienced doubt, temptation, loss, family problems or personal inconsistencies, or you just simply desire to have a deeper relationship with God, this study is for you! It is guaranteed that you will find yourself in his story, in his songs/Psalms, and through it, develop a more meaningful relationship with the God who loves you and never gives up on you.
The cost of the book is $20
Additional ways we connect:
- Game Night (every few months for fun and laughter)
- Yearly retreats (coming up October 4-6)
