Journey:Connect

Women’s Life Groups

Welcome!

The word ministry takes on various meanings, one of which is “something that serves as an agency, instrument or a means.” Women’s Ministry exists to serve as an “instrument” to connect women to God and to each other. We believe no woman should stand alone. In a big church like Journey, it’s easy to get lost in the crowd. But we don’t want that to happen, because the truth is, we DO need connection…a place to be known and know others.

Our weekly point of connection is in Life Groups where you can:

Connect…with other women of all ages, stages of life and spiritual growth. Within a small group setting, there’s a beautiful opportunity to get to know others and make new friends. Come get connected no matter how young or old you are! We all have something to offer each other!

Cultivate…your life with God by learning more of who God is, who you are created to be, and how change happens when there’s a wonderful intersection between God and you, as we explore His Word (the Bible) together through a variety of Bible study books. Within the small groups, there’s discussion about how God is working in our lives through the particular study we are going through.

Care…for others and be cared for in an atmosphere of acceptance and encouragement, love and grace. It is within a small group that we are known and know others. This can be scary for some and we understand. We’d love for you to give it a chance!

In Colossians 2:6-7, it says, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you are taught.”

To strengthen and deepen your life with God, we offer various Bible study books which not only take us deeper into the Bible, but challenge us to live it out. Whether you are just checking out being a Christ follower or you’ve had a relationship with God for years, this place is for you! The point is that we are all moving towards more of God in our lives within community. We are NOT created to travel life’s journey alone!

We begin our time each week with worship in the larger group, then view a DVD or live teaching. Following this, we meet in small groups to discuss how God has intersected our lives, as well as just share our lives together.

Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:30 pm
or Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 am
in The Other Room located behind the Food Bank.
(Childcare is available)

Whatever your stage in life, you are welcome to join us and invite a friend!

Women’s Ministry is starting a new seven week Bible study/book, written and taught by well known, Priscilla Shirer, on Gideon (an Old Testment dude many don’t know about!).

Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Inexperienced? Intimidated? Insufficient? Too old? Too young? Too invisible? Too afraid? Realizing that we all experience one or more of these from time to time, come join us as we take a look at Gideon’s life. His story involves far more than a wet fleece and a battle won with 300 soldiers. His epic victory actually tells of one man’s struggle with his own weakness…and the One True God who transformed it into triumph.

If you’ve ever struggled with insecurity or had trouble accepting your limitations, this study will help you see how God can use your “weakness” to unlock His strength and just what that means for day to day life! Yes, Gideon can attest…weakness is a gift. Join Priscilla and us for a Bible study that will open your eyes to a brand new persepctive on yourself, your God, and …Gideon.

We start on Tuesday, April 29, from 6:30-8:30 OR on Wednesday, April 30, from 9:30-11:30, in “The Other Room”. (Cost of the book is $15)

If you’re looking to connect/meet with other women, this is a great place to do that! Hope to see you there!
