Connecting with God & Others

Women's ministry

We believe that everyone is designed for deep, meaningful relationships with God and others. In other words, church isn’t really about attending “services,” it’s about building relationships.

Women’s Ministries desires to provide a variety of ways to simply connect women to God and to each other. Think of it like an umbrella with the word “Connection” on it and under that umbrella are options for this to happen! In a big church like Journey, it’s easy to get lost in the crowd! But, we don’t want that to happen and the truth is, we really do need each other.

Elijah: Faith and Fire

Join us beginning February 22 in The Corner Room to have your faith in God increase as we look at the story of the character Elijah in the Old Testament! Most OT heroes are best known for their most celebrated moments: Moses dividing the Red Sea; David slaying Goliath; Gideon routing an insurmountable army; Joshua marching around the defiant walls of Jericho. And Elijah….calling down fire on Mount Carmel. Blinded by the remarkable narratives of our Biblical heroes, we can forget they each had a backstory…months and years of development, even difficulty, which fortified their spiritual muscle and prepared them for the tests that made their lives unforgettable.

Every person of faith longs to summon the kind of boldness and faith that can stand firm on Mt. Carmel and pray down heaven into impossible situations. Yet few are willing to go through the process required to get them there. Strength of faith, character, and boldness can only be shaped in the hidden fires of silence, sameness, solitude, and adversity Those who patiently wait on God in the darkness emerge with their holy loyalty cemented, their courage emblazoned, and their confident belief in Him set afire!

Join us and author and teacher Priscilla Shirer on this 7-session journey through the life and times of Elijah. Book to buy and bring with you on Feb. 22 on either Amazon or LifeWay is “Elijah: Faith and Fire.”

Wednesday mornings • 9:30 – 11:30 am
1 Peter: A Living Hope in Christ

Come join us for a new Bible study series we’re starting on Wed., March 2, from 9:30 – 11:30 am, in The Corner Room. We will be studying the book of 1 Peter with author and teacher, Jen Wilkin.

This is a fabulous 9-session Bible study written by Peter, a man of faith and flaws and an eyewitness to the life of Jesus. In this book, we are challenged by Peter to look beyond our current circumstances to a future inheritance that is sure and secure. In this book, he shares concerns about issues for the early believers which we can learn from today. We look at what God says is our true identity in Christ and ultimately leads us to experience the living hope we have in Christ.

Please order your book either through Amazon or and have it with you when we meet on March 2!
