Breakfast with a Grandmaster
Join us for our quarterly men’s breakfast. Grandmaster, Bishop Donnie Williams will share his life’s journey through Karate, movies and connection to Jesus!
Bishop Williams’ exceptional life as a world-class athlete and champion, ultimately led to his calling into ministry. Grandmaster Donnie Williams is a 10th degree Black Belt. Starting in the 1970’s, he won every major Karate tournament there was to win.
A few of Grandmaster Williams’ movie credits include: Enter the Dragon; Black Belt Jones and Force of One. He has worked with Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood, Jackie Chan, David Carradine, Ed Parker, Byong Yu, Jim Kelly, Isaac Hayes, Elvis Presley, and Richard Pryor. Grandmaster Williams founded the International Christian Karate Association (ICKA) in 1998, and is a co-founder of the Black Karate Federation (BKF), which was formed in 1969.
Bishop Williams served his country in Vietnam as a Navy Hospital Corpsman, attached to the 3rd Marine Division. Bishop Williams also has a love for law enforcement. He earned his AA degree in Police Science at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California. He founded a Chaplaincy Program with the Monrovia (California) Police Department, and served as a Developer for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Chaplaincy Program. He was named Reserve Officer of the year for Los Angeles County in 1998. After 22 years of service, Bishop Williams retired as a Reserve Police Officer, and as a Chaplain for the Monrovia Police Department.
