UrbanLife Farms CSA
Get Fresh Fruit & VegetablesJourney’s partner, Urban Life Farms, is growing produce at their two farms in City Heights and Southeast San Diego. Young people from these communities are employed to work the farms, getting first-time job experience while participating in neighborhood transformation.
Want to start your fall off right by eating more fresh vegetables and fruits?
Sign up today for the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription with UrbanLife Farms! Members receive a bag of local, pesticide-free produce each week delivered to Journey Sunday mornings, starting September 3rd.
The cost of the 12 week CSA provides paid internship opportunities for low-income urban youth right here in San Diego, equipping them with nutrition education and important job skills.
Bags include 8-10 items weekly and a newsletter with recipes! The CSA provides seasonal vegetables, fruit and herbs based on the San Diego growing season, and they try to change up items each week so at least some of the items are different. (current season items example: basil, passion fruit, chard, cucumbers, radishes, jalapenos, red bell peppers, figs and squash)
Some members choose to pair up with someone else and split a subscription. Cost is $360 up front or pay $30 weekly. [On the payment form, please choose the 12 week option, either weekly or payment in full.]
