Serving Refugees
The Family Welcome Center is excited to announce that there will be opportunities for Journey to partner with them in welcoming and serving the refugee community.
Four events are being held, two for Thanksgiving and two for Christmas. Why two for each? This will allow the programs, the holiday stories, and even the Gospel presentations to be more thoughtfully designed for Muslim families or non-Muslim families.
The Welcome Center is looking for volunteers for one or more of these Banquets. Volunteers are needed to: help with set-up (a banquet style event); decorate serve food, drinks and desserts; sit at the tables during the event and befriend the refugees; help with a children’s program (English); help with clean-up; and/or help with transportation (many refugees don’t drive or have cars yet).
The dates, the times, and the locations of each of these events is listed below. Use the button at the bottom of the page to communicate with Dan Bender and to let him know when you would like to serve!
