First Step Aesthetics & Tear-Down
We long for First Step to be a warm, inviting space for people to step into community and be known. We are in search of “behind-the-scenes” volunteers to help us make that happen on a monthly basis! Check out if any of these descriptions sound like you:
First Step Set-up Team
In search of artsy/decorator/set-up types to help create a warm, beautiful environment for First Step guests as they take their “First Step” into belonging at Journey. We’ll gather on the first Sunday of the month from 10:45am-12:15pm and set up the room, jamming out to worship music and praying over the room together.
Some characteristics of the volunteers needed for this team:
– Gets joy and excitement from creating a beautiful ambience
– Responds to changes and challenges with enthusiasm & creative problem-solving… Doesn’t get frazzled easily
– Motivated, efficient & somewhat time-conscious
– Available for full 90 minutes on the dates they serve (1st Sunday of month)
– Has reliable transportation to and from church
First Step Tear-down Team
In search of loyal “Git-‘Er-Done” types to help us clean up & re-organize First Step for the following month. We’ll gather on the first Sunday of the month from 3-4pm and clean up all the decorative supplies in a way that the set-up team can easily find the supplies they need for next month’s First Step.
Some characteristics of the volunteers needed for this team:
– Highly self-motivated and likes to “Git ‘er Done”
– Likes to put things away in their “homes”… loves order, systems, puzzles
– Somewhat discreet; may need to begin tear-down quietly while Ed is finishing the Q&A session
– Go-with-the-flow team player
– Available for the full hour on the dates they serve (1st Sunday of the month)
– Has reliable transportation to and from church
