I once heard a phrase that stuck with me… “Bitterness is a choice.” As we eagerly anticipate the celebration of the greatest rescue mission of all time what if we chose to take our armor off? Letting go of the bitterness of what past holiday seasons looked like? Choosing to forgive that person, that situation, that time, or even ourselves… to make room to receive the gift that is Jesus this Christmas.

What if we CHOSE to forgive? What if we CHOSE not to let bitterness run the show anymore? Instead, what if we pulled up a chair and spoke words of life, meaning, and celebration with hearts ready to give the gift of forgiveness this season?

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. — Ephesians 4:32
