It was great to be back speaking at Journey – I so miss it when I’m gone. It’s also great to kick off the August series. It’s become a part of our rhythm to speak on prayer in August – either for a couple of messages on each side of a WEEK OF PRAYER (this year August 19-26) or for the whole month. This weekend we began a 5-week series based in the Lord’s Prayer called Learning to Pray… again. It seems like we need to keep learning TO pray and stay fresh in learning HOW to pray.
If somehow you missed I would really encourage you to do 2 things:

- Get the podcast and listen to the message because the first line of the Lord’s Prayer really is foundational to prayer and really the whole life with Christ deal we are doing together!
LAUNCHING A FRIEND
It was a milestone weekend for us in another way as well. We announced that 16 year Journey pastor Rod Kaya has accepted a call to be the executive pastor at Crossroads Church in Loveland Colorado. We sense this is the Lord’s leading and send Rod & Tara out with a full heart! But they will be greatly missed.
Rod shared stories from the early days of Journey… this is where we got the name, Journey!
