Our series Glorious Mess is looking at the lessons from St Paul’s letter to the church he started in a city called Corinth. We’re calling the first movement of this series “1ST CALIFORNIANS” because these guys lived in a culture and dealt with problems that remind us, disturbingly so, of US!
So we come this week to the issue of people actually suing each other. But there are some deep issues that Paul begins to touch on, issues of Shape X community (see message #2 in this series) and most of all SURRENDER!
As we took communion we also took a piece of yarn and tied it to our piece in the center of the room that has icons of Jesus. The point… when you tie yourself to Christ you are tied to US, to ekklesia, to His body!
Our worship was powerful from almost the opening note!
