This May marks the 5th Anniversary of the Journey Food Bank providing for to families in need! In this time, the Food Bank has become a mainstay of Journey’s community engagement efforts. Hundreds of families are provided food each month at the distributions, as are dozens of seniors on fixed incomes. Food bags are made available to needy persons visiting the office. Support is provided to Hope For The Homeless as well as Journey’s Thanksgiving Dinner Program.

Pretty cool, huh?

Recently the Food Bank moved to a spiffy new location provided in part by all the Journey faithful and I Live The Journey! This permanent location feels like home to set up home for the Food Bank and Hope For The Homeless. Our refrigeration space has doubled to 6 unites. Shelving encircles the room. A three-compartment sink has made cleanup much easier. All in all, the Food Bank is a multi-purpose, multi-user facility benefiting all of Journey.

Please plan to visit the Food Bank at an Open House on April 8 and 10 as we celebrate 5 years of service to the people of La Mesa and East County! Also, bring a bag of food to help us feed our (voracious) Food Bank. We will be handing out (empty) bags at the April 1 & 3 services. Our new place is in the room formerly occupied by the Trolley Deli, located at the southwest corner of the Worship Center Building.

Join us for our Open House!
Friday, April 8 and Sunday, April 10

after services at the Journey Food Bank (located on the southwest corner of campus.)
