We had the privilege of have Dr. Tony Campolo at Journey this last weekend.
It was powerful. He talked about powerfully about us living out, embodying and offering what the research shows people want:
SPIRITUALITY – in and through the Gospel of Jesus and His death and resurrection.
AUTHENTICITY – A life that lives out the Good News (Gospel) of Jesus
A HOPEFUL ESCHATOLOGY – Declaring and living in the victory of Jesus that is on it’s way! Yes, evil is more powerful and entrenched now than ever. But the Kingdom of God is on the move and is growing larger and stronger today than ever all over the world.
Jason, Tic and I had breakfast with Tony and his wife Peggy before the services. Which was so fun and helpful. He had great insight on Haiti, an interesting take on politics and lots of insight for us as pastors. As I said when I introduced Tony, he was calling us to care for the poor and obey the countless scriptures that call us to care for what Jesus called “the least of these” way before most of us were listening.
Here are some pics from the weekend.
