Weekend #3 of our series on the 3rd Act of Paul’s lengthy letter to the Church in the Greek city of Corinth that we are calling “SUPERNATURAL” was a big one.
First of all we had a story to tell involving the transition of our Middle School Pastor, Christina Robertson. We are bummed she is leaving but it’s a great story of God’s leading and her and her husband Ian supporting, affirming and encouraging each other’s callings. See this link for the full story and for our new pastor, Jarred Benitez story of God leading him. http://journeycommunitychurch.com/ministries/middle-school/transition/
24/7 PRAYER EMPHASIS
We also began signing people up for next week’s 24/7 PRAYER WEEK (May 5 – 12). For many of us this is a time to stretch. Praying for an hour is a challenge, but we’ll give you resources and a prayer guide that will walk you through. Our goal is every hour for one week, Journey is praying.
“USE YOUR WORDS”
A word of transparency is in order: Teaching on the stuff in 1 Corinthians 14 in a way that includes the seeker, the new to the whole Bible people MIGHT be the Mt Everest of preaching. To many people (lots of Christ-followers included) “speaking in tongues” and “prophecy” can seem pretty bizarre. Somehow, I think we made it, but this week we’re right back at it looking at the rest of this discussion so… we’ll see (K2 next week?).
