Hope For The Homeless Blankets ‘n’ Bibles Drive
Did you know that BIBLES is one of our biggest requests from our homeless friends!?
I know we can do that- and PRAY and more! Our San Diego winter is ahead of us and it’s getting cold outside, so let’s gather our extra bibles, blankets and beanies!
Nov 27 through Dec 18, please drop your donations of gently used or new blankets, bibles and beanies into our collection bins on campus for our Hope for the Homeless team to distribute during their Friday night meal deliveries. Collection bins are located in front of the JCC office and Twice Treasured Thrift Store during business hours and in the lobby during weekend services.
We will also accept sleeping bags, coats, gloves and socks. Please launder used items before donating.
If you’d like to Adopt a friend to pray for, here’s how:
1. Write a personal note and/ or prayer for a homeless friend.
2. Include that note inside your bible.
3. Bundle your bible and blanket together with twine.
4. Include a tag with your name/ email / phone # (Tags and twine will be available next to the bins after services).
5. Drop into collection bin and Pray.*
*See a HFTH volunteer next to collection bins after service for assistance.
If possible, we’ll get you a name and picture of the recipient of your bible & blanket so that you can continue to personally pray for them by name.
