What kind of Life Groups will I find at the Community Connection?
Many of our Life Groups are what we call “mixed” – meaning a combination people of all ages, life stages and genders. At the same time, there will be some designated life stage groups, i.e. married couples, empty nesters, Young Adults, Men’s, Women’s, etc.

When and where do groups meet?
Life Groups happen on nearly every night of the week in homes throughout San Diego County or on campus.

When I attend the Community Connection what am I committing to?
When you find a group that fits you best, you are committing to be a part of a Life Group that begins meeting the following week. Life Groups have natural on-ramps and off-ramps every 6-10 weeks, allowing for changes in schedule, new members, etc.

Do I get to choose what group I am in?
Yes. At the event you will be given clear instructions on the types of groups being formed, where they meet and when they meet. There will also be teams of people there to help answer questions that you might have that will help you to make your decision.

What if I don’t know anybody?
This event was designed just for you!  These are new groups being launched with new people, therefore everyone starts off at the same place together. This provides a great environment for new friendships to be developed.

What if I have never been in a Life Group before?
This event was designed with you in mind.  These groups are designed with clear start and ending.  So you are not locked in for life. You are committing for to be in a group for several weeks.  However, if you desire to continue on in the group, you have that option.

Besides the Community Connection are there other ways to join a Life Group?
Yes. Most groups have natural on-ramps and off-ramps every 6-10 weeks, allowing for new members to jump onboard. There are also Life Groups that meet on campus where you can join every week (i.e. men, women, college, twenty-somethings, thirty-somethings, singles, etc.) Click here for more information on campus Life Groups: journeycommunitychurch.com/ministries/adults/

Is childcare provided?
Childcare is provided for the Community Connection event. Campus groups most often have childcare available on campus. For all other  groups, this is handled on group-by-group basis. In most cases, arrangements will have to be made by group attendees.
