This weekend we wrapped up a long, 3 movement series through the Biblical book 1 Corinthians that we called “GLORIOUS MESS”. It breaks down like this:

Movement 1: CROSS-SHAPED COMMUNITY. Paul casts a vision for messy and even dysfunctional people in a community that is defined and shaped by the Cross of Christ.

Movement 2: MAKING ROOM – This thing God called into being, called eklesia (church) uniquely welcomes all kinds of people, it leads with grace. Which of course causes all kinds of friction. Our challenge is to make room for each other, to create space.

Movement 3: SUPERNATURAL – As Paul turns attention to the things of the Pneuma (The Spirit), he lets us know that we are dunked in and invited into the things of the Spirit, the grace gifts of God.

The whole letter closes with of all things some instruction about of all things an offering, a worldwide collection for the poor and persecuted Christ followers of the Jerusalem and environs. In this we actually see more on the theme of “SUPERNATURAL.”

In fact SUPERNATURAL & NATURAL INTERSECT AT THIS VERY PLACE: GENEROSITY!

Of course the best thing about this post is that we did BABY DEDICATIONS this weekend. Here are some pics!
