O.k. let me just say right out of the gate that I am hopelessly biased. I’m so proud of all 3 of my kids and the way they are all about the Kingdom of God and how all of them are finding ways to make a difference. And in the interest of full disclosure my daughter Bethany is the volunteer that is spearheading the initiative that is the subject of this post.

But that doesn’t keep me from being able to SPOT A FANTASTIC IDEA WHEN I SEE ONE!
And that would be SUMMER FUN CAMP. It’s not exactly a news flash that a lot of people don’t have extra money laying around right now. But we still want our kids to have a great summer. We still want to take advantage of the time off school for our kids to have some experiences that will help them move toward God.

Enter SUMMER FUN CAMP. We stay in town. But it is seriously fun!

SFC will feature fun field trips including trips to the pool, movies, roller skating rink, inflatable things and a competitions day with water games. They will also learn about life with God. There will be creative, engaging, rich lessons every day. But they will also learn about life with God from the older high school age kids that will be their “camp counselor” for the week.

In addition it’s a great way for your kids to feel connected and plugged in at church. It would take 6 months of Sunday mornings to spend this much time with your church friends. This is so important to set them up for success in their teenage years. It will go a long way toward a seamless transition into the middle school ministry at Journey. Plus (and I know from my parental experience this is a BIG plus) they will be around older “cool” kids that authentically love God. That alone is worth it.

INVITE THE NEIGHBORS & COUSINS – in addition, because it’s here, because it’s a great deal, you can invite all your kids friends, cousins, soccer / little league teammates. If you don’t have kids or your kids aren’t in this age group, maybe there are kids in your neighborhood that you can sign up. This is a great opportunity.

There are plenty of spots available, but don’t wait. Sign your kids and their friends up this weekend! I promise you will be glad you did.
