What is one decision that you knew God influenced?
The night of September 11, 2001 I went to bed completely affected by what happened. When I was closing my eyes, I heard God propose a question, ‘What about the children?’ I was halfway asleep but I remember thinking, if this is God reminded my in the morning. When I woke up the next morning my first thought was, ‘What about the children?’ I began to think, this could possibly be God, but what does it mean? As if the answer were right in front of me, so calm and simple, “Comfort the children with a stuffed animal.” That’s all.
As a mother of two small children, I imagined the comfort a stuffed animal could provide the orphaned kids. At the time my kids were 6 a 9 years old and I could not dream of them losing a parent. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great to give a stuffed animal to every child who lost a parent in the September 11th attacks.”
