Meet Teresa Hyde!

Teresa always shows up with a smile on her face willing to work in any area or age group. She is consistent and dependable. Teresa is extremely passionate about working with 2 – 4 year olds, in fact, she aspires to become a preschool teacher. Every time she volunteers, she is ready to engage with the kids… She walks in and heads right to the kids, sits with them and engages with them. She shows up for the kids and that’s why we think she is amazing.

Lindsay Gates interviewed Teresa, read the Q&A below to learn more about Teresa!

Why do you volunteer your time with the kids? “I volunteer because I know I am needed and I enjoy being with the kids. I have a lot of fun with them. They make me smile and put me in a really great mood.”

What do you enjoy most about working with us and the kids? “I enjoy most working with the volunteers and co-workers because I love all my church friends at Journey and they are always happy to see me when I arrive. I get along with everyone there I work with and they are fun to be around. I also mostly enjoy working with the kids because I get along with them really well. If they cry for their parents I try my best to comfort them so they feel better. They are happy to see me as I am with them.”

What is one of your favorite memories while working with the kids? “When I first started working with the little ones, they warmed up to me after just a few weeks.”

Why do you like the age group that you volunteer with (age 2)?  “I like this age group because it gives me experience for when I get hired someday to be a preschool teacher.”
